Safe-Haven-PosterLed by Josh Duhamel (Transformers) and Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages), Safe Haven is the latest in the long list of novels by Nicholas Sparks that have been adapted for the big screen.

So far, we’ve seen two US trailers for the film, and a beautiful sun-kissed first poster, and now Momentum have released the UK trailer variant, featuring a combination of the first trailers, and most importantly they’ve announced the UK release date, set for 1st March next year.

“SAFE HAVEN is an affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to love again, Safe Haven is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, the best-selling author behind the hit films The Notebook and Dear John. When a mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.”

Three-time Oscar nominee, Lasse Hallström (Chocolat, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Leslie Bohem (TV’s Taken) and Dana Stevens (City of Angels), with Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, The Avengers) and David Lyons (Grey’s Anatomy) completing the cast nicely.

And in case you’re curious as to what the song is in the trailer below, it’s a brilliant cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way, performed by Lissie.

Safe Haven will be released in the US on Valentine’s Day next year, 14th February. And here in the UK, we can no look forward to its arrival slightly later, with the release date set for 1st March, 2013. For now, here’s the UK trailer to remind you of what we have to look forward to.
