Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher is just two months from hitting the big screen, with the Tom Cruise-led film given the same opening weekend slot as last year’s blockbuster success, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Cruise is front and centre of the new posters, which surfaced yesterday, and now Yahoo Movies have delivered the first full-length trailer, following on from the teaser trailer we caught over the summer.

“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”

Cruise takes the lead alongside a great cast, headed up by the excellent Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.

McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) is directing from his own script, having adapted Lee Child’s best-selling novel, One Shot (which was originally to be the film’s title), in the Jack Reacher series.

Jack Reacher will be hitting the US on 21st December, before coming to the UK a little later for a Boxing Day release. Let us know in the comments below if this is one of the handful of blockbusters left of the year you’re looking forward to.
