Last week saw the release of the brilliant first trailer for Jonathan Levine’s new zombie romantic-horror-comedy, Warm Bodies. Led by Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) and Teresa Palmer (Wish You Were Here), I thought that first trailer was a brilliant sign of what’s come, and can’t wait for the release in the New Year.

With the film’s arriving coming early in 2013, EW have debuted a new poster with Hoult and Palmer front and centre, keeping in theme with the first poster we saw last month.

“When a highly unusual zombie rescues a girl from imminent death at the hands of his cohorts, their unlikely romance sets in motion a chain of events that will transform him, his fellow dead and maybe even the whole lifeless world.”

The duo are joined by an excellent cast, headed up by Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love.), Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Rob Corddry (Children’s Hospital), and John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich).

Levine, who has helmed two of my favourite films in recent years (The Wackness and 50/50), is directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel by Isaac Marion.

Warm Bodies will be released in the US on 1st February, 2013, before coming to the UK a week later for an 8th February release. I can’t wait. This looks like it should be a great new take on the zombie-comedy genre, injecting a neat little dose of romance into it (and, judging by the trailer, balancing them all nicely).
