This Is 40 PosterJudd Apatow’s This Is 40, the writer-director’s sort-of sequel to Knocked Up, will be one of the last films released in the US this year, and with the awards season very much on the horizon, it’s going to be really interesting to see how strong a contender Apatow’s latest comedy will be.

Led by the great Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, reprising their roles from Knocked Up, we last saw a brilliant new trailer back in the summer, and now the new poster has debuted online, giving us another look at the married couple and their children.

“Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see firsthand how they are dealing with their current state of life.”

Jason Segel will be reprising his role alongside Rudd and Mann, as well as Mann and Apatow’s real-life children Maude and Iris Apatow, with great support coming from Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, Chris O’Dowd, John Lithgow, Melisssa McCarthy, and the ever-brilliant Lena Dunham.

Apatow is once more directing from his own script, and is also producing alongside Barry Mandel (Serenity, Bridesmaids) and Clayton Townsend (Knocked Up, Bridesmaids).

This Is 40 will be released on 21st December in the US, in prime contention for the Oscar season, before coming to the UK a little later for a Valentine’s Day release on 14th February, 2013. For now, here’s the new poster, which you can click through to enlarge.
