Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained will be one of the last films to enter the Oscar race this year, due out in the US on Christmas Day, naturally making it one of the best films closing out the year.

We saw a fantastic set of character posters for the leading cast last week, and now a new international trailer has made its way online, giving us another great look at what we have to look forward to this winter.

“Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award(R)-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award(R)-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles–dead or alive.”

Jamie Foxx stars as the eponymous Django, with terrific support beside him in the form of Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Jonah Hill, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Tarantino is of course once more directing from his own script, with Bob and Harvey Weinstein returning to work with the writer-director as executive producers.

Django Unchained will be hitting the big screen on Christmas Day in the US, before arriving here in the UK on 18th January. I can’t wait; this is going to be brilliant.
