Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables is just two and a half months away from its big screen debut, putting it in prime position for the Oscars in the coming awards season in the US.

This week, we’ve been treated to the first two of four character posters for the film, giving us a look at Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, and now the final two have been released through the film’s Facebook, showing us Anne Hathaway’s Fantine and Amanda Seyfried’s Cosette.

“Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.”

The leading quartet are joined by a fantastic supporting cast, headed up by Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, and Helena Bonham Carter, with Isabelle Allen starring as the young Cosette.

Hooper is following up his Oscar-winning film, The King’s Speech, with a highly anticipated adaptation, directing from a script by William Nicholson (Gladiator, Shadowlands), who adapts the original classic novel of the same name by Victor Hugo and the world-famous stage musical.

Every time I watch the extended featurette we saw last month, I can’t help but get that much more excited about seeing it in cinemas. It looks simply incredible.

Les Misérables will be arriving in theatres in the US on Christmas Day, followed swiftly after in the UK on 11th January, 2013. I can’t wait; it’s going to be amazing. For now, here are the wonderful two new character posters, which you can click to enlarge.
