The Woman in Black: Angel of Death Promo PosterThe Woman in Black has been one of the most successful films of the year, with Daniel Radcliffe really making a mark following the end of Harry Potter, switching genres to embrace the Hammer horror.

We heard earlier in the month that Tom Harper (Misfits) has been set to helm the sequel, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death, and with this year’s American Film Market currently underway, Collider have been able to take a photo of the first promo poster for the film.

“The Woman in Black: Angel Of Death will continue the story four decades later. Seized by the government during World War II, the sudden arrival of a group of evacuated children at Eel Marsh House awakens its darkest inhabitant.”

Harper will be directing from a script by Jon Croker (Desert Dancer), based on an original story by Susan Hill, the author of The Woman in Black.

We don’t yet know who will be leading the cast, but hopefully we’ll be hearing plenty more from the film in the coming months. From this first promo poster below, it looks like we might have a female lead to look forward to, and I’m interested to see if they go for an already-established name, a rising star, or an unknown to take the part.

The film’s presence at AFM hopefully means that the project is moving forward nicely, so with any luck, we’ll have talk of production dates and casts coming our way shortly. For now, this first promo poster is plenty to keep us looking forward to the next instalment in the series.
